Increase Immunity and Resist Infection with Food

Staying Healthy Begins with the Inside

During times of virus spreading, protect yourself on the inside as well as the outside.

Indeed, we must do our part in social distancing, washing, sanitizing, and self-isolating, but in the midst of what appears to be a pandemonium, one of the ways to maintain a sound mind and body is to maintain a strong immune system.

Incorporating the following foods into our every day meals are known to strengthen our immune system. This will keep defenses high and chances of infection low.

Physician, scientist, and author of New York Times Best Seller, Eat to Beat Disease says, "The foods we choose to eat everyday can either activate our defenses or damage them".

Here are foods well-known to activate them:

Garlic
Ginger
Turmeric
Green tea
Bone broth
Spinach
Broccoli
Asian mushrooms
Tomatoes
Oranges, kiwis, blueberries, lemon water
Yellow, orange, and red bell peppers
Organic chicken or turkey
Oily fish
Organic yogurt plain or Kefir
Sunflower seeds
Almonds

Also, research has shown that the following can lead to cancer-fighting anti-inflammatory activities and boost the immune system: Echinacea, black cumin, licorice, and St. John's wort.

Don't forget to get some sunshine☀️ and exercise as you take care of yourself. There is only one you!
